A
Conversation Between Inhalation And Exhalation
Adapted
from "Conversation between inhale and exhale" by Aldo Josephus, Certified
Transformational Facilitator, International Breath Institute
Exhalation: "breath"
Inhalation: "You breath"
Exhalation: "We can't exhale until you inhale"
Inhalation: "We don't want to inhale cause every time we inhale, we feel all this stuff in the body and it don't feel good."
Exhalation: "But don't you get it? By inhaling
you loosen the stale energy in the body and when we exhale it lets go and
moves out of the body. But if you don't inhale, we can't exhale. Got it?"
Inhalation: "Yeah, But I don't know. It all
seems just too simple."
Exhalation: "Whattaya mean, too simple."
Inhalation: "Well, you say we breath in
and you breath out and stuck energy moves out of the body, then we are
free, happy and peaceful? It's just too simple."
Exhalation: "What is too simple about it?"
Inhalation: "For years my person has been
exercising, dieting, and taking pills in their search for happiness and
still they are unhappy. So you're telling me that my inhalation and your
exhalation will bring the whole body to peace, harmony, and happiness?"
Exhalation: "Not just one inhalation and
exhalation, but a continuous series of inhalations and exhalations. This
will oxygenate the cells of the body, sending energy to those parts that
are not working efficiently because they haven't been getting enough fuel
to do their job. Listen! Every time something happened to your person that
they didn't want to experience, they withdrew their awareness from it and
the only way they could do that was to slow down their breathing. That's
how our unhealthy habits started. Now it is out-of-control and it's so
bad you have forgotten how to inhale and your person's body is starving
for air."
Inhalation: "You mean I have forgotten how
to breath?"
Exhalation: "Exactly! But you can correct
it. It really is easy to inhale--Your mind has just told you it's too hard
and that you don't need to.
Inhalation: "But I'm breathing aren't I?"
Exhalation: "Yes, but only enough to keep
you functioning-sort of."
Inhalation: "You mean I could feel better?"
Exhalation: "Of course! Would you like energy?
Would you like to know why you are here on this planet?
Inhalation: "I guess so. It doesn't sound
so simple anymore"
Exhalation: "It is! Each breath releases
layers and layers of the blocked energy you and your person created as
a form of protection from the outside world. But what this did was separate
them from their true self, the spirit, and without the spirit your person
is in a never-ending search for happiness in the outside world not realizing
that the outside world is but a reflection of the inner world. So what
breathing will do is release those layers, each time unveiling another
aspect of the true self, bringing your person closer and closer to the
whole being that they are. Is this clear? Will you now take a breath?"
Inhalation inhales and exhalation exhales, inhalation inhales and exhalation exhales, inhalation inhales and exhalation exhales, inhalation inhales and exhalation exhales.
Inhalation: "Hey! Stop forcing the exhalation.
What's the rush? We've waited lifetimes to release these blocks. What's
an extra breath or two?"
Exhalation: "Great! Thanks for the reminder - just go-limp on the exhale. This feels so good"
